City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi will soon reveal the artist commissioned to mark its highly anticipated reopening in 2026. As the gallery undergoes refurbishment and Te Ngākau Civic Square is reimagined, excitement is building around the return of the gallery and our major opening exhibition. Behind the scenes, the team has been working to introduce a celebrated contemporary artist to Aotearoa.
In November, the distinguished international curator behind this landmark exhibition will deliver a public lecture offering a rare opportunity to gain insight into the artist’s practice.
